Walgreens Internal Audit Department reports directly to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors and is responsible for conducting a comprehensive, bjective assurance program around the financial integrity, operational processes and technology that comprise the company's control environment.

Responsibilities:

• Developing and maintaining productive client and staff relationships
• Consulting with all levels of Management and performing continuous monitoring activities
• Assisting in development of risk-based work plans and project approaches
• Reviewing and evaluating internal controls
• Assisting in preparation of audit planning documents, audit procedures, and final reports for approval by an audit supervisor and/or manager
• Interacting with clients for the purpose of analyzing problems, developing alternatives, building consensus, and supporting implementation of solutions
• Creating recommendations for process improvements or operational efficiencies
• Coordinating and providing external audit with assistance as requested
• Assisting with special assignments as determined by the Director of Internal Audit and/or Company Management
• Performing Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) control reviews in a fast-paced environment
• Assisting with confidential acquisition due diligence audits and file buy-out reviews
• Using project management tools to oversee project progress

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated critical thinking and strong analytical ability
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an independent manner
• Detail oriented and organized
• Must possess tenacity to pursue difficult and sensitive issues to an acceptable conclusion
• Possess high ethical standards
• Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or other Business related field
• Understanding of internal control concepts (COSO)
• Exposure to Retail, Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, PBM, or distribution industries a plus
• CIA, CPA, CISA or CFE certification or certification in process desirable
• Knowledge of ACL or other analytical tools to extract, analyze and manipulate data is desirable
